deconstructed Black Circle by Kazimir Malevitch
acrylic, steel and magnets

Inspired by Malevich’s iconic ‚Black Circle‘, I developed this work that playfully explore the principles of deconstruction. By dividing the original into four equal parts and making them rotatable, I opened up a space for an infinite number of new compositions.
This system of division and rearrangement invites the viewer to actively participate in the artwork. Each new arrangement raises questions: What does the destruction of such a well-known image mean? How does our perception change when we continually reassemble a work? Why did I choose this very arrangement?
My works are not only a homage to Malevich but also an exploration of the nature of the image itself. They show how a simple geometric element like a square can, through deconstruction and reconstruction, become an inexhaustible reservoir of new shapes and meaning.
